City Councilman Wants To Raise Ticket Fines

Las Vegas City Councilman Steve Wolfson wants to raise the fines that people pay when they get parking tickets. Right now you would pay anywhere from $20 for a meter that expires, to $250 for parking in a fire lane Wolfson says the City may double those fines. Times are tough and they need more money. Last year the city collected nearly $7 million in parking fines. Double that, and you just might double that.....or else people will just be more careful and not park in those places. Hey, that's a novel concept! Stay tuned. Lots of stuff has to happen before this would ever become law, but they are looking at it right now.
